Canon Rebel XS Review

The rebellious Canon Rebel XS is supposed to be a proud sequel to the much popular Rebel XSi but it ends up as another run of the mill product from the house of Canon. Startling though it may appear, Canon Rebel XS fails to look different from its earlier version and thus the product appears to be identical, if not the same. And to make things worse for wear, Canon Rebel XS fails to impress its beholders with its less than perfect design and interface that will definitely remind you of its elder sibling. But wait, it is not that bad. It has some good qualities that can at least make your hands busy for a while. Its photo quality is good but again this is not anything new to Canon and it promises solid performance, which is obviously a hallmark quality of Canon.

Canon Rebel XS comes with two variants but it is the black boy that you might fall in love with. The silvery one is not bad though, it lacks the charm of its sibling. Each of them comes equipped with single-lens kit with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens that ensures a steady performance. Though there is not much difference between Canon Rebel XS and its predecessor, it has done some good job at its weight. It reduces a couple of ounces that gives you the slim feel.

Wrapped in a plastic body, Canon Rebel XS is not good at grip. You have to force you fingers to tame this nice little device despite the fact that the company has tried its best to redress the issue by adding a rubbery-feeling over its body. But still, you may it find it comfortable enough hold ion your hands while taking some crucial shots for your next projects.
